What is NeuroPilates?

NeuroPilates™ combines traditional Pilates movements with functional neurology exercises to provide sessions and classes that stimulate the nervous system to maximise athletic performance, help alleviate pain and support injury rehabilitation.

It is a movement system aimed to optimise the body’s posture, movement, vision, balance and overall health by improving and fine tuning the brain body connection at a neurological level.

What is the main difference between a normal Pilates class and a NeuroPilates™ class?

In a NeuroPilates™ class each session is themed towards a different part of the brain. The movements will be similar to a regular mat Pilates class but will include neurological exercises such as specific eye positions for example, inner ear balance drills or even direct brain activation drills that can be combined with the movements. Each week you will get to know your brain better and have a deeper sense of proprioception and embodiment that allows you to work on your weaknesses in a very specific way despite being in a group class.

The ultimate goal of a NeuroPilates™ class is to make the participants move, breathe, see and balance better for a healthy optimal brain. After attending a NeuroPilates™ class, you should expect to feel awake, energised and stimulated!

Who can benefit from a NeuroPilates™ class?

Anyone can benefit from taking a class. We have had great results helping people from all walks of life, from those who generally just want to get fitter and feel healthier in their bodies to those with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis.  Athletes or sports professionals who are looking to improve their performance can also gain benefit from this type of training.
